Through a new website myearthdream.com, those interested in helping support Honda's push will be able to make a donation to environmental charity, pledge to make a lifestyle change, and in return have their name featured on the car.

I personally think it looks awful, and certainly hope they haven't spent all their money on this! It'd have far more impact if the car was reliable and not pumping out blown engine smoke every five minutes...

So... after a long time, we finally get a leaked photo of the new Honda car. It's officially launched tomorrow.

The new Honda livery will be a striking green and blue "map of the world", which has been designed to underline Honda's desire to be seen as an ecologically friendly car company. The full details of the package will be released at the Science Museum in London tomorrow.

From Celsias:

A French designer of engines for Formula One racing cars has turned his attention to creating an engine that runs on, and emits, only air! By all accounts, this is no pie-in-the-sky dream invention either - as the vehicle's release is slated for later this year.

With a top speed of 110kph (68mph) and a range of about 200kms (125miles), it looks to be an entirely useable commuter, and more. In fact, once the initial model is on the market, there are plans for a hybrid version - a car that will use a small amount of fuel to generate the compressed air required for the main engine - resulting in a 4,500km range (2,800 miles) from just one tank of fuel!

I sincerely hope this doesn't appear, it looks horrible!

Hello and welcome to my newest blog.

I have been a passionate follower of Formula One for many years now, 13 at the time of writing - the tragic 1994 season was my first real exploration of the sport. That year's show down between Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill at Adelaide, along with Ayrton Senna's fatal crash are among my earliest F1 memories.

The purpose of this blog is to follow the goings on throughout the season and give my opinions on whatever lies ahead. I, of course, welcome your feedback too and have set up a forum in order for you to do that (registration is required but it's a quick and painless process!)

Being in Britain, my coverage is provided by ITV with James Allen and Martin Brundle commentating. One of them is sublime and couldn't be better (well, he was...) and the other isn't. To say the least. More on that as the year progresses no doubt.

Roll on March 18th!
