My (late) John Peel Tribute

| 1 Comment | No TrackBacks

I know he died a while back now (October 26, 2004, to be precise) but I wanted to create a tribute to John Peel. Here's my little homage of links to him:

1 - The John Peel Sweet Eating Game: Still worth a try. Let me know how you do!

2 - John Peel's Festive 50s: John broadcasted a listener's poll of favourite records each year, here's a list of the results. Spot the difference between 1976 and 1978...

3 - Peel goes "Bleeeeeeeeeeeurgh!": More wise words from the man himself: "Most of those are actually out in the shed."

[Links via lots of other places - sorry I haven't credited people properly, get in touch if this annoys you...]

This is the first time I've done one of these but I hope they end up being a regular thing... it's a kinda trawl through various web sites. Just three for now, but I hope you enjoy them.

1 - Fridge Magnet Battle: It's an interactive battle really, well, more of a struggle... you'll see what I mean! It's obviously a very popular site as lots of people are using it at once - hence the battle for letters! Be warned though, generally rude words appear on the giant fridge area...

2 - Council of The Western Isles: There's something rather horrifying about moving your mouse really quickly over the map as their faces grin back. Give it a go...

3 - Banana Guards: Don't let your bananas get bruised again!

This is a shame... I was looking forward to using this! It seems their plan wasn't quite as fool proof as they had wished...

A campaign by Lycos Europe to target spam-related websites appears to have been put on hold.

Earlier this week the company released a screensaver that bombarded the sites with data to try to bump up the running costs of the websites.

But the site hosting the screensaver now displays a pink graphic and the words "Stay tuned".

No one at Lycos was available for comment on latest developments in its controversial anti-spam campaign.

This post follows from this post...

I'm back... and twice as cold

Hey everybody.

Sorry I've not been around in a while, what with one thing and another (mainly exams and revision) I've been a busy little camel.

Noticed a few things I'd like to share with you but, in some kinda true tradition, one which I'm starting right now, I'm gonna put them all up as separate entries. It's my blog, I make the rules!

Anyway, enjoy the next few pieces...
